Of the many makes of distributor found on classic cars the Lucas is among the most common. Each type occurs in both 4 and 6 cylinder versions, indicated by the suffix D4 or D6. They are found principally on most British cars built up to the mid 80,s they include Leyland, Jaguar,Austin,Rover etc there were two main series: the 22, 23 and 25 series; and the later 43, 44 and 45 series.
