This is plastic trim piece that goes round the door lock on the rear doors of all Defender models 1983 -2001 and all Series models where the lock barrel protrudes through a hole in the door skin. The benefit of this is that the lock barrel doesn’t have to be perfectly centre within the hole cut out in the door skin (the ones which are clipped in needs to be dead centre with an equal gap all round to be able to fit).
